Dr. Gillespie a native Calgarian, completed his medical degree at the University of Alberta in 1970. After finishing post graduate training, Dr. Gillespie worked for two years as an emergency room physician in a busy downtown hospital. In 1975, Dr. Gillespie began training in hair restoration surgery and in 1976, attended his first international conference on hair restoration surgery in Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA.
With over 25 years experience Dr. Gillespie is a leader in the field of Hair Restoration Surgery in Western Canada. He has performed thousands of hair transplant procedures and his entire practice is devoted to performing microscopically prepared, follicular unit transplants.
Dr. Gillespie is a leader in the field of hair restoration surgery in Western Canada. Dr. Gillespie’s commitment to attend international conferences yearly is a clear indication of his desire to provide his patients with the latest techniques in hair restoration surgery.
Dr. Gillespie is a charter member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and a diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).
He is highly regarded by his medical colleagues in the community and is a past Chief of Staff of the Rockyview Hospital.
